LOWISH- On March 12, 1929, George Major, dearly-beloved husband of Beatrice May Lowish, Opoia Road, Claudelands, in his 65th year South African War Veteran interred at Hamilton East.

HAMILTON, The death occurred recently at his home, Opoia Road, Claudelands, of Mr. George Major Lowish, in his 64th year. Born in Hunmanby, Yorkshire, he joined the Imperial Yeomanry at the outbreak of the South African War and saw service in the Transvaal, Orange Free State and Cape Colony. About 16 years ago he came to the Waikato and was engaged in farming up to the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and three sons and two daughters.
