The Northern Argus (Clare, SA : 1869 - 1960) Fri 8 Oct 1875 GEORGETOWN. [From a Correspondent] October 5. The death of Mr. Alexander McKenzie cast quite a gloom over this community; he being a member of the lodge of Oddfellows here. He was at the picnic, and appeared in the best of health, yet within a few days afterwards he was called to his last account. Although a working man he nevertheless gained the goodwill and respect of all who knew him, a proof of which is manifested by the harmony displayed in assisting the afflicted widow. The cause of his death is said to be typhoid fever.
Alexander married Elizabeth BARTHOLOMEW [1100] [MRIN: 365], daughter of Thomas BARTHOLOMEW [1101] and Susan PUTLAND [17239], on 22 Mar 1862 in St James Church, Blakiston, South Australia.
