The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1931 - 1954) Fri 9 Feb 1940 Jones -- Nelson Wedding St. Peter's Church of England, Glenelg, had white flowers on the altar and autumn-toned flowers in the chancel at the wedding on February 3 of Marjorie Hilda, only daughter of Mrs. H. Nelson, of Ramsgate street, Glenelg, formerly of Perth, Western Australia and the late Mr C Nelson, to Bramwell Victor, third son of Mr. Eric Jones, of Renmark. Canon H. R. Cavalier officiated. Mr. Mowbray Tucker save the bride away. She chose a gown of white chiffon satin cut on period lines, and the high decolletage was caught with a spray of orange blossom. The skirt merged into a long train. Miss Vera Mellett, of Black Forest, was the only attendant, her apple green organdie, self figured in white, was worn over green taffeta and sashed with ribbon velvet in darker tone. Mr. Murray Jones was bestman. A reception was held at the Rio Cafe, Glenelg, where the decorations were carried out in blue and pink flowerIs.. Mrs H. Nelson chose a coin spotted French romaine in white and green toninss, fashioned with a high neckline. With it was worn an upturned black stsol straw hat with two stiffened black lace flowers. Her shoulder spray was of pink carnations, white accessories were worn.
