DIVORCE COURT
THE VOLUME OF DECREES.
Mr. Justice Mann was again engaged yesterday in dealing with divorce suits. A number of undefended petitions were heard, and in each case a decree nisi was granted.

Leonard Uren, 39, of Canterbury-road, Vermont, petitioned for the dissolution of his marriage with Margaret Jane Uren, 35, on the grounds of misconduct with a man named Conway or Cresso, who was cited as co-respondent. The parties were married in Melbourne on 12th September 1900. There were four children by the marriage. In November, 1916, he sailed with a contingent of the A.I.F., and he had not seen respondent since. All the time he was on active service respondent received an allotment and separation allowance from him. He received letters regularly from her until early in 1918, when he heard from his mother that respondent was living with a half caste named Conway at Box Hill. In 1918 she left Box Hill, taking the four children and some of the furniture with her, and, went to Anderson, near Wonthaggi, with Conway. He had not been able to trace her since then. Being out of work he went to England as fireman on a steamer. On his return he was informed that respondent had deserted his children, and also that she had a child, of which Conway was the father. A decree nisi with costs was granted
