Arthur Hollingsworth Parker, of Grooves street, Fitzroy, agent. Causes of insolvency -Sickness in family, and want of remunerative employment Liabilities, £40 0s. 6d.; assets, £1; deficiency, £39 0s. 6d. Mr. Cohen, assignee. Leander Oria Ells, store and hotel keeper, Raglan. Causes of insolvency - Sickness in family, had debts, losses, and falling off in business, Liabilities, £610 17s. 8d.; assets, £158 10s. 8d.; deficiency, £152 6s, 10d, Mr. H. Livinson, assignee.

Arthur Hollingsworth Parker, a young man, was charged with embezzling £4 10s., the moneys of W. O. Buik, importer. Rundle-street, on January 23, at Adelaide. Prosecutor said defendant came to him and represented that he was an agent, and could sell goods. Entered, into an agreement with him to sell some hammocks. Prisoner afterwards said he had sold hammocks to Messrs. E. J. Beck, R. Allen, A. Chambers, G. Gell, Wigley, and J. Souttar. Paid him the commission on the hammocks sold, and sent out invoices to the persons named. On January 21 prisoner said he was going down to the Bay, and said he thought he could sell a half-dozen hammocks if he was allowed to take them at once. Gave him the hammocks. He afterwards said he had not been able to sell them, but that he thought he would be able to sell them if allowed to retain them. On January 28 prisoner wrote a note, stating that - he had sold the hammocks, and had collected the money, and that he would not be able to pay the money back, as he had spent it. The hammocks were worth about £10. Messrs. Souttar and Allen said prisoner sold them hammocks, for which they paid him. Martha Ann Tingey, pawnbroker, said on January 24 prisoner pledged a hammock with her for 4s. Chas Joseph Chester, pawnbroker, said prisoner pledged four hammocks with him for £1. Detective Rogers said he arrested the prisoner on board the steamer Victorian at Port Adelaide. Cautioned him. He said Yes, that is right, I sold them and spent the monev. We were partners. Mr. Buik and I, and I offered him £50 to settle it. To be imprisoned three months with hard labor.

MONDAY, JULY 13.

Wellesley Arthur Hollingsworth Parker, schoolmaster, was charged on remand by Adelaide Parker, his wife, with leaving her and
her son (K. J. Parker) without adequate means of support, at Port Adelaide, on February 4. An order was made for the payment of 15s. a week.

Wellesley Arthur Hollingswortn, Parker, schoolmaster, was charged by Adelaide Parker, his wife, with having left her and his
son without adequate means of support, at Port Adelaide on February 4 or 5. The evidence showed that defendant had left his wife unprovided for. He said that he came to the Port to try and do well, but gave way to drink. He would make as comfortable a
home as possible. He would take his wife to a friend's house for the present. To pay 15s. per week and pay costs.
