The Narracoorte Herald (SA : 1875 - 1954) Fri 20 Jul 1945
OBITUARY.
MR. F. E. JOLLY.
Hynarn. July 17th.
The death occurred on July 12th at the Narracoorte Hospital of Mr. Francis Edward Jolly, of Hynam, at the age of 44 years. The late Mr. Jolly was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jolly (deceased) and was born at Goolwa in the year 1901. He worked in the railways in the early part of his life, when he left the railways to manage a property for Mr. W. S. Stevenson, of MundaIIa where he resided for about four years. The deceased resided at Wolseley before coming to Hynam. He played football and cricket for Mundalla, Wolseley and Frances Clubs. While at Hynam his later life was mostly shearing. Mr. Jolly had been in ill-health for the past two years. His condition becoming worse, he was conveyed to the Narracoorte Hospital, where he had been under medical care, but his condition did not improve and he passed away early on Thursday morning, July 12th. The deceased leaves a widow and five children, viz., Paul (R.A.AF.), Joan, Bruce, Jim and Kay ; four brothers-Ern, Arthur, Roy and John; and sisters-Mrs. C. Deering, Mrs. A. Murray and Mrs. D. Johnson (deceased). Much sympathy is felt for Mrs. Jolly, who is left with a young family. The remains of deceased were laid to rest in the Narracoorte cemetery. The mortuary arrangements were carried out by Mr. A. F. Giddings, of Narracoorte. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Curtis.
