THE FERRIS FAMILY
AVERAGE age of nine surviving members of the Ferris family is 77 years, according to figures given me by Mr. John Ferris, of McLaren Vale. Mr. Richard Ferris and his wife Susan, from Bickleigh, near Plymouth, Devon, arrived in the ship Airlie in 1877, and settled at Noarlunga. He attained 90 years. Their children-Mrs. Elizabeth Champness (85), Brighton; William (83), Narrandera, NSW; Mrs. Emma Dickenson (82), Kaniva, Vic.; John (80); Thomas (79), Kaniva; Mrs. Jane Gepp (74), Noarlunga; Mrs. Bessie McNeil (73), Glenelg; Richard (71), and Courtney (69), Noarlunga. The four daughters mentioned are widows. [?? not sure is this is the correct McNeil ??]
