Father And Son Fined For Assault
WILMINGTON, March 10. In the Magistrates Court, before Mr. Coventry. S.M. Frank Starkey, grazier, of Wilmington and his son, Bertram Clarence Starkey, were each charged with having assaulted Alfred Lawrence Hughes, farmer and district ranger, of Wilmington. Mr. W. C. Beerworth, of Port Augusta, appeared for the prosecution, and Mr. F. Adams, of Peterborough, for the defendants. Evidence was given by Hughes and his son. and Dr. R. J. Last, of Booleroo. Both defendants gave evidence on oath and denied the charges. They were found guilty, and Frank Starkey was ordered to pay £5 7/ in a fine and costs. Bertram Clarence Starkey was fined £3, and ordered to pay costs £4 3/. medical expenses £4 7/, and compensation £5, in default imprisonment for a month.

Frank Starkey was ordered to pay £5 7/ in a fine and costs. Bertram Clarence Starkey was fined £3, and ordered to pay costs £4 3/, medical expenses £4 7/, and compensation £5, in default imprisonment for a month.

The cause of her death was puerperal septicaemia, pneumonia.
