Border Watch Tuesday 14 May 1940 PERSONAL Mr. and Mrs. Perriam, of Wehl Street, have received word from their son David that he has been appointed to the office staff of Gerard and Goodman, Adelaide, After a successful three years at Mount Gambier High School, during which he gained both Intermediate and Leaving Certificates, David left a fortnight ago to live in Adelaide, to continue his study of the Accountancy Course.

The prefect and house systems have been maintained, and each has proved a most useful adjunct to the school. At the beginning of the school year the prefects were chosen, Allen Carthew and Joyce Lehmann head prefects and Margaret Bleechmore, Mary Boase, Melvie Norman, June Bartlett, Patricia Bleechmore, Murray Warren, Donald Gleed, Charles Miller, David Perriam and Victor Miller. Later David Perriam and Charles Miller left to take up positions and Ian Hay and Keith Hyde were elected to take their places. . .

Border Watch Thursday 27 Feb 1945 Surrender of 2nd Jap., Army Pte. D.G. Perriam, of 2/48 Bn., 9th Aust. Div., sent home to his mother who lives in Wehl Street, Mt. Gambier, a coloured card signed by the Commander-in- Chief of the Australian Army (General T. A. Blamey). Pte. Perriam, who was one of the men present at the actual signing of the surrender of the 2nd Japanese Army at Morotai, was presented with the card, which reads- "Issued to the members of the Allied forces at Moratai on the occasion of the surrender of the Second Japanese Army." The address on the card was Advanced Headquarters, Morotai, 9th September, 1945.

The West Australian (Perth) 12 May 2016 Obituary: PERRIAM (David George): 2.2.1924 - 10.5.2016 A soldier (2/48th), carpenter and accountant, but above all the darling love of Cynthia for almost 69 years and the dearly loved and respected father and father-in-law of John and Kathy, Peter and Carol, Brian, Jane and Pete, Elisabeth and James. Much loved grandfather of Jacki and Dave, Michelle and Darren, Steven and Avril, Jessamy, Lisa, James and Khwun, Jessica and Chad, David and Mia and great- grandfather to Kaitlin and Lauren (dec), Alyssa, Freya and Morrigan, Ava and Jeffy. A life well and truly lived to the full. A man of honesty, reliability and integrity. Thank you for all the sacrifices made, support, advice, fun times and care. An exceptional man who left us a magnificent legacy. RIP.

Border Watch Saturday 21 Jun 1947 Wedding Notice: Perriam-Miller A gown of cream silk net over satin was worn by Cynthia, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Miller of Bertha Street, Mount Gambier for her marriage with David George, only son of Mr. and Mrs. R.V. Perriam of Wehl Street, Mount Gambier, at Christ Church on June 7. Rev. W.J. Chittleborough officiated. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father. Her bodice was gathered and the skirt encircled with wide, tucks fell into a long train. Velvet roses held her long tulle veil. She carried a bouquet of cream roses. Miss Julie Perriam, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. She wore a gown of white organdie embroidered with clusters of pastel flowers. She wore a coronet of mixed flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of pink and mauve flowers. Mr. Charles Miller was best man. A reception was held at Christ Church Hall. Mrs. Miller pinned a spray of pink roses to her black coat which she wore over a black-silk frock. Mrs. Perriam wore a silver fox fur with a black coat and hat. For travelling the bride wore a turquoise frock with black coat and black hat trimmed with turquoise feathers. The honeymoon was spent in Adelaide and their future home will be in Mount Gambier.
