Barrier Miner (Broken Hill) Thursday 16 November 1916 BABY DOWN A WELL - RESCUED BY RETURNED SOLDIER. Adelaide, Wednesday. Recently the infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, of Fisher-street, Fullarton, fell down a well in a paddock-near its parents' residence. Sapper Collcutt, who heard the child's nurse's cries for assistance, was soon on the scene. He procured a rope, lowered himself down the well, and found the child on a ledge 30ft. below the surface. The bottom of the well was covered with mud to a considerable depth. A ladder was let down the well and Sapper Collcutt by means of it brought the baby, who was practically unharmed, to the surface. Sapper Collcutt recently returned home from France owing to illhealth.
