Gilgandra Weekly and Castlereagh (NSW) Thursday 17 March 1938 WEDDING BELLS Semmler-Anderson A very charming wedding of much interest to the people of this district was celebrated at the Methodist Church Gilgandra, by Rev. W. Taylor, on Saturday, March 12, at 5.30 p.m., when Isla Lilian, younger daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Anderson, of "Mosgeil," and late of "Booranda," Gilgandra, was married to Ronald, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Semmler, of "Kiewa," Gilgandra, thus uniting members of two of our best known families. The bride entered the church on her father's arm, wearing a very lovely and unusual gown of blue angel skin lace, cut on classical lines, with a high Merici collar, with which she wore a finger tip length veil of cut tulle of the same delicate shade of blue as her gown, held in place by a circlet of forget-me-nots. At her throat she wore a beautiful old pearl and sapphire pendant, belonging to her mother, and she carried a bouquet of white Madonna lilies, carnations and rosebuds. Miss Mavis Anderson, twin sister to the bride, attended her in shell pink Chantilly lace over satin, and on her hair wore a shoulder length veil of pink cut tulle, held in place with pink frangipanni. She carried pink lilies and carnations. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Hector Luckie, of "Hazelmere," Mendooran. Mrs. G. Convary officated at the organ, and during the signing of the register, the solo "Beloved It Is Morn," was sung by Miss Elsie Harrison. After the ceremony the reception was held at "Mosgeil," where a party of relatives and friends were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Anderson. The bride's mother received the guests in a frock of navy sheer, carrying a posy of pink rosebuds. The mother of the bridegroom chose navy georgette and lace, and carried a posy of pink lilies. Gay lighting and floral table decorations made a very effective setting for the pale blue wedding cake. For the travelling ensemble the bridge chose a huntsman green jacket suit of wool Mariette and ciri satin, with wide brimmed hat and accessories of dark red. The bridal couple left by car for their honeymoon which will be spent touring the South Coast.
