The death occurred to-day of Mr. George Langdon Toop, a respected resident of this district for many years. Owing to ill health he removed into the township a month or two ago. He has been away on several occasions for medical advice, but without avail. Last Wednesday when Dr. Pavy, of Narracoorte, was in Kingston, he was called to see Mr. Toop, but it appears nothing or very little could be done. The deceased was in his 70th year, and has left a widow and a grown up family with whom much sympathy is felt.

George married Susanna OAKLEY [13764] [MRIN: 5095], daughter of Thomas OAKLEY [13769] and Amelia Mary JONES [13770], on 19 Mar 1872 in St George Church, Meadows, South Australia. (Susanna OAKLEY [13764] was born on 7 Aug 1851 in Meadows, South Australia and died on 11 Dec 1932 in Kingston, South Australia.)
