News (Adelaide, SA : 1923 - 1954) Tue 5 Feb 1924 Page 5 NURSES' TEA PARTY Four Hostesses Entertain At the Botanic Garden an afternon was spent by 12 old Adelaide Children's Hospital nurses, who gathered to welcome into the nursing ranks Miss C. Throssell, who has just gained her Australian Trained Nurses' Association certificate, and-has thus put her foot on the first rung of the ladder, which her mother, the late Mrs. L. Throssell (nee Isabel Cottrell) climbed so successfully. The hostesses were: -Mrs. A. D. Corpe, Mrs. Monten, Miss E. Dorman, and Miss M.T.W. Higgin; and the guests - Mrs. E. Riceman, Mrs. Wood, Mrs. Watt, Mrs. D. Henderson, Mrs. Darnley Naylor, Miss Walsh, Miss Snelling, and Miss Hodge (who were all members of the staff of the Adelaide Children's Hospital working with or under Mrs. L. Throssell), Miss Cottrell; and the guest of honor, Miss C. Throssell.

A most delightful afternoon was spent at the Botanic Gardens on Saturday, February 2, by 12 old ACH. nurses, who gathered together to greet Nurse C. Throssell, who has just gained her A.T.N.A. certificate, and thus put her foot on the first rung of the ladder of success which her mother, the late Mrs. L. Throssell, climbed right to the top. Mrs. Throssell (nee Cottrell) was a very popular trainee and charge nurse at the A.C.H., and her old friendi are glad to welcome her daughter into the nursing ranks. A delicious afternoon tea was partaken of in the Kiosk-. The liosttsses were: - Mrs. A. D. Corpe, Sirs. Monten, Jfiss E.' Dorman, and Miss M.T.W Higgin. The other guests were Mrs. D. Henderson, Mrs. Riceman, Mrs. Wood, Mrs Watt, and Mrs. Darnley Naylor, Miss Walsh, Miss Snelling, Miss Hodges Miss Cottrell, and the guest of honour, Miss C. Throssell.
