The marriage of Ida Mary, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Walton, of Wharminda, and William Henry, youngest son of Mrs. A. Duke, of Edithburg, and the late Mr. Duke, was solemnised at the Wharminda Hall on May 2. Rev. J. V. Morgan, of Tumby Bay, officiated. The hall was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked sweet in a gown of white silk crepe, made with a long waisted bodice, soft shirrings, a high neckline and Iong pointed sleeves. The skirt graduated into a long train. A tulle veil (loaned for the occasion by Mrs. L. Schuster) was held in place with a wreath of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white flowers. Miss Beryl Walton (the bride's sister) and Miss Mavis Cox (cousin of the bride) were her bridesmaids. They were dressed alike in pink taffeta gowns and wore matching veils, which were caught in front with pink flowers. They carried pink posies. Mr. R. Rodda was best man, and Mr. W. Walton (the bride's brother) was groomsman. During the signing, of the register, Mrs. C. Walton rendered "Mate o' Mine." She was accompanied at the piano by Miss Gwen Russell. As the bride was leaving the hall, a horseshoe was hung on her arm by her nephew (Daryl Birkin). A reception was held in the Wharminda Hall, where the bridal party received the guests. Congratulatory telegrams were received by the bride and bridegroom, including one from the bride's brother, who is in the A.I.F The bride cut the three-tiered wedding cake, which was made by the bride's mother and iced and beautifully decorated by Mrs. Ern Masters. The bride and bridegroom left for Adelaide by plane, where the honey moon was spent. The bride travelled in a green frock, with small black hat and accessories.
