Burra Record (SA : 1878 - 1954) Tue 2 Nov 1943 Page 1 Fuss - Fillmore Wedding Beautiful mixed flowers in shades of pink, blue and other pastel tints adorned the channel with sunbeam tinted Iceland poppies on the altars at St Mary's Church on Saturday last for the marriage of Edmund John Fuss, younger son Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fuss, of Burra North, and Chloris Hilda, younger daughter of Mr. F. Fillmore of Burra and the late Mrs. Fillmore. The Rev. M. P. Cowle officiated at the ceremony with Mrs. H. White at the organ. Given away by her father the bride wore a smart tamarisk pink jacket suit, the jacket of which was embroidered, black turban, toque and black accessories. A shoulder spray of pink toning roses completed a charming ensemble. The bride was attended by Miss Betty Brandt, who chose a becoming jacket suit of a beige shade, smart brown upturned hat and accessories and wore a shoulder spray of pink rosebuds. Mr. Charles Griffiths was best man. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Fillmore entertained the near relatives of both families to a buffet luncheon at their residence. Beautiful flowers adorned the dining-room. Mrs. Fillmore. stepmother, wore a black ensemble with pink reliefs smart upturned hat to match. Mrs. R. Fuss was in navy blue with delphinium blue trimmings and hat to match. Both ladies wore shoulder sprays of blue, pink and lemon tones. Mrs N. Pritchard, of Morgan, only sister of bride wore a loyal blue costume, hat to match and Mrs. Clarence Fuss was frocked in grey with toning hat. Mrs F. Baker, bride'e aunt, of Adelaide, was also present. The bride and bridegroom left by the afternoon train for their future home at Allenby Gardens.
