THE LATE MR E. J. DOWSETT.
Mr. Ernest John Dowsett passed away at his residence, Victoria Street, Queenstown, last Friday, after an illness lasting over twelve months. He was 61 years of age, and a native of Port Adelaide, and carried on the business of a carrier in the district for years. He was at-one time a member of the Port Adelaide Council, representing: South Ward for two years. He was a life-long abstainer, and a member of the Northern Star Tent. No. 1, I.O.R., and was also a member of the Duke of Leinster Lodge of Freemasons. He was a son of the late Mr. Edward Dowsett coming of one at the pioneer families of the Port. He left a widow, one son, and two daughters-Mr. Frank Dowsett, of Queenstown: Mrs. W. Bails, of Peterborough; and Miss Marjory Dowsett, of Queenstown-and one grandchild.
