Bride-elect Entertained.
Miss Joyce Colliver, whose marriage to Mr. Alan Uppill will take place on July 20, was the guest of honour on Wednesday evening at a party given by Misses Beryl and Joan Birchley at their home, St. Cloud, Mt. Lawley. The hostesses were assisted by their mother in entertaining their guests. Bridge was played, and prizes were won by Miss Sadie Parrant and Miss Gwen Cash. On her arrival the guest of honour was presented with a bouquet of pale pink roses, and later in the evening was given a gift for her future home. Among others present were: - Mesdames Cecil Sweeting, W. Andrew, M. Watts; Misses Catherine Cumpston, Dorothy Bennett, Doris Colliver, Sadie and Margaret Parrant, Gwen Cash, Biddy Dodd and Alys and Peggy King.
