A verdict of accidental death was returned by the City Coroner (Dr. Ramsay Smith) on Tuesday morning after the enquiry into the death of Isaac Stewart Donnell (46). Evidence was tendered which showed that the deceased was riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road, and when approaching a woman, who appeared to alight from an electric tram, he lost control of his machine. As a result he collided with the woman, who was knocked into the gutter, while the deceased fell backwards from his machine and struck his head on the ground. He received a large fracture to the base of the skull and extensive laceration of the brain to which causes death was due.
