Image 174 8 Mar 1904 Dear Brother & Sister, [Agness & the young man she is to be married to, thinks the best thing for me to do is to live with them and not work with lodgers any longer they think it is time I was getting a rest so I have settled to have a room from them and all live together. William Burness is a steady young man and is very nice. A(gness) has known him for 6 years, he is cashier in the same place that Agnes is in, the marriage is to come of[sic] in June. Billie is getting on very well. We knew nothing about Henery[sic] till we got the notice of his death it was very sudend[sic] he went in to hospitable on the 4 and died on the 11 of pneumonia. Image 164 14 Bruntsfield Avenue, June 16th, 1904. Dear Brother & Sister. We have got that great event of ones life over every one seemed quit hearty and happy and Agnes & William went away at ½ past 6 to Aberdeenshire to a place called Murley farm Birse Aboyne. They have a fortnight so will be home on Saturday to start work on Monday. Agnes got a good many presents and a very nice clock to sit on the parlour mantle shelf it has been going for a fortnight after it was wond up it was given to them both from the Wareroom people they have got a good house so I only trust it will be a more happery union for Jessie they have known each other for about 7 years. [Duncan Stalker has not asked for his boy for 2 years. Billie is well but they cant take him into the school till September we are quit near the links and not far from the Braid Hills you would not know the Places here now. How is all your family I forgot to send the Scotsman last week but you will get it this time, this leaves us all will with kindest regards to your Wife & family, Your Affect Sister, E. Duncan.
