REDH1LL WEDDING
Pengtlly-Kidd
IN the Methodist Church, Redhill, the marriage of Ethel D., elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pengilly, of Redhill, to Kitchener, third son of Mr. and the late Mrs. G. H. Kidd, of Crys tal Brook, was performed by Rev. W. Brasher, of Crystal Brook. Miss Win was organist. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a slim fitting frock of fine chantilly lace over white satin, the bodice of which had a pleated panel effect in front and a square neckline outlined with satin pleating. The back was finished with satin buttons and loops from the neck to the waistline. The skirt was cut on the cross, flared into a graceful train. A veil was lent by Mrs. Parham, of Whyalla, and was held in place by a halo of orange blossom. A bouquet of mixed flowers, with a touch of pink and blue hyacinths, was carried. Bridesmaids In Air Force Blue Misses Dorothy Pengilly (sister of bride) and Ruth Badman were bridesmaids. They were frocked similarly in air force blue lace and net over satin. The bodices had a panel of tucked net in front, with silver buttons and loops and Peter Pan collars of tucked net. The skirts flared from the hips and were finished with a band of net rucking at the hemline. Silver haloes, with blue veils, looked charming. Posies of pink sweetpeas and hyacinths were carried. Two flowergirls, Joan and Betty Dennis, of Angaston, preceded the bride down the aisle. They were dressed alike in frocks of pink spotted net and haloes of pink and blue flowers. They carried baskets of flowers to tone. Mr. Cecil Kidd was best man, and Mr. Lawrence Pengilly groomsman. During the signing of the register Mrs. Horne rendered a solo. As the bride left the church lucky horseshoes were hung on her arm by Sylvia Neindorfer and Jessie Pengilly. The bride's parents entertained about 70 guests at a reception in Memorial Hall. The bride's mother chose a navy frock, with bolero, relieved with pink and blue. A small navy toque with an eye veil was worn and a posy of pink flowers carried. Miss E. Kidd (bridegroom's sister) chose a brown floral frock with brown accessories, and carried a posy of autumn tints. The bride travelled in a frock of navy and white figured English crepe, trimmed with sharkskin.
