INQUEST ON MINER'S DEATH.
SOUTHERN CROSS, April 15.-At an inquest on the death of Harry Franklin Broadbent (48), who was found dead at his mine, nine miles north of Evanston, with his head shattered and a shotgun alongside the body, his wife, Mary Winifred Broadbent, was the only witness. Mrs. Broadbent described her rush to Evanston for medicine. She did not know her husband was dead until after the police had taken the body to Southern Cross. The Acting-Coroner (Mr. W. Metzke, J.P.), on the application of Sergeant Corr, adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
