TOOK BATTERIES, FINED Theft of three batteries worth 18/ led to Alan Ivan Broadbent 22, driver, of Fifth street, Bowden, being fined £5 with 15/ costs by Messrs. J. W. Wain wright and V. J. Fountain in Hindmarsh Court today. Broadbent, who pleaded guilty, said he took the batteries home to test a charger he was making. He intended returning them to the scrap yard, where he was working at the time. Sgt. W. T. A. Andrews prosecuted.
