MILNE, Elliott Bray. - Passed away peacefully in hospital, March 31, 1997, aged 89 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Isabella. Loved father of Margaret and Tom. Devoted papa of Anne, Kay, Lynton, Karen and Lawrie. Cherished great-papa of Luke, Kane, Briana, Lloyd, Meg, Haidee, Sophie and Chloe. A good friend of Craig. Treasured memories of a caring gentleman. In God's Care. A special thank you to Dr. Goh and the caring staff of the Bordertown Memorial Hospital.

MILNE. - THE RELATIVES and FRIENDS of the late Mr. ELLIOTT BRAY MILNE, of Bordertown, are respectfully advised to assemble at the Pioneer Chapel Complex, Bordertown, on THURSDAY, April 3, for a Service of Thanksgiving, commencing at 11.00 a.m. At the conclusion of the Service, the Cortege will proceed to the Bordertown Lawn Cemetery for the Committal. Elliott married Isabella Margaret McLEAN [8140] [MRIN: 2923], daughter of Louden John McLEAN [8141] and Susan WEIR [9585], on 14 Feb 1934 in Congregational Church, Bordertown, South Australia. (Isabella Margaret McLEAN [8140] was born on 26 Sep 1903 in Mundulla, South Australia and was buried on 8 Apr 1994 in Bordertown Cemetery, South Australia.)

In the Bordertown Congregational Church on Wednesday, February 14, Elliot Bray, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Milne, of 'Brayfleld,' Bordertown, and Isabel Margaret, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. McLean, of Bordertown, were married by the Rev. C. A. Hawke. The church was decorated by Mrs. Hawke and Misses A. Robinson and I. Milne, Miss Olga Low played the 'Wedding March.' During the signing in the vestry, Mrs. D. Rowney rendered a solo. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her brother (Mr. N. McLean), wore a frock of white satin de soie. The bodice was made on simple lines, with long white georgette sleeves the skirt being ankle length. Her embroidered veil, which fell in billowy folds to form the train, was banded to the head with orange blossom, and was lent by Mrs. J. Crocker. Her bouquet was blue delphiniums, and pale pink rosebuds. Intermingled with maidenhair fern. Miss Mollie Hillier (cousin of bride), and Miss Jean Milne (bridegroom's sister), were frocked alike in ankle length pale green pearl crepe; the bodices were made with cross-over effect, and short frilled sleeves. Large cream picture straw hats with trimmings of green velvet ribbon, and flat pink flowers were worn. Each wore the bridegroom's gift '97 a string of crystal beads, and carried bouquets of pink and white roses, sweet sultan, and fern. Little Kathleen Allen was flower girl, and wore an ankle length frock of pink satin de soie, made with goffered frills. A pink tulle coronet was worn on the hair, and a small gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. James Tidy and Mr. Frank Young attended the bridegroom. As the bride left the church her little niece, Ella McLean, hung a white satin horseshoe on her arm. A reception and wedding breakfast were held in the kindergarten hall. The tables were decorated vith carnations, roses, and fern. A two decker cake was made by the bride's aunt (Miss Jessie Wier), and decorated by Mrs. Elliot. The parents of bride and bride groom, with the bridal party, received the guests. Mrs. McLean (bride's mother) was frocked in black crepe de chine, relieved with white. She wore a black hat, and carried a posy of lavender and vieux-rose asters and fern. Mrs. Milne (bridegroom's mother) was frocked also in black crepe de chine, which was worn with a black hat; her posy was red carnations and roses. The usual toasts were honored. The newly married couple left by motor for a tour in Vic toria. The bride's travelling frock was of floral crepe. With it was worn a navy wool de chine coat and navy hat.

Bordertown Congregational Church was crowded with friends and wellwishers who attended to witness the marriage of Isabel Margaret, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. McLean, of Bordertown, to Elliott Bray, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Milne, of "Brayfield", Bordertown, which took place on Wednesday, February 14. The church was tastefully decorated with tecoma, petunias, and roses, in pink tonings, relieved with fern, and was the work of Mrs. E. C. Hawke, and Misses A. Robinson and I. Milne. The Rev. C. A. Hawke was the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother (Mr. N. McLean) made a charming picture in an ankle-length frock of white satin de soie, fashioned on simple lines, and falling in graceful folds, with long sleeves of white georgette. Her beautiful embroidered veil, which was lent by Mrs. J. Crocker (of Pooginagoric), was banded to the head with sprays of orange blossom and fell in billowy folds to form a train. She carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums and pale pink rosebuds, intermingled with fine maidenhair fern. Miss Mollie Hillier (cousin of the bride) and Miss Jean Milne (groom's sister) were bridesmaids and looked sweet in ankle-length pale green pearl crepe gowns, cut on similar lines with cross-over bodice effect and frilled sleeves. Their large hats were cream straw, trimmed with green velvet ribbon and miniature pink roses. They both wore the gift of the bridegroom '97a string of crystals'97and carried bouquets of pink and white roses, sweet sultan, and fern. Little Kathleen Allen was flower girl and wore an ankle-length frock of pink satin de soie, with goffered frills. She wore a coronet of pink tulle banded to the head with floral sprays. Her gift from the bridegroom was a gold brooch. Messrs. J. A. Tidy and Frank Young were bestman and groomsman respectively. Miss O. Low played the Wedding March, and Mrs. D. B. Rowney sang "Listen to the Violin" while the register was being signed in the vestry. As the bride left the church a lucky horse-shoe was hung on her arm by Ella McLean, her neice. The beautiful bridal bouquets were the work and gift of Mrs. R. C. Allen. The reception and wedding breakfast was held in the Kindergarten hall after the ceremony. The tables were tastefully set out and decorated with carnations, roses, and greenery. Mr. and Mrs. L. McLean, with the bridal party, received the guests. The bride's mother wore a becoming frock of black crepe-de-chene, relieved with white, a black bancock hat, and carried a posy of violet and vieuxrose asters and fern. Mrs. Milne (mother, of the bridegroom) also chose black crepe-de-chene, with hat to tone, and carried a posy of red roses and fern. The toast to the bride and bridegroom was proposed by the Rev. C. A. Hawke, and re sponded to by the bridegroom, who proposed the health of the bridesmaids, on whose behalf Mr. J. A. Tidy replied. The toast "The United Families" was submitted by Mr. A. A. Fisher, J.P., and Mr. A. E. Milne responded. Miss Jessie Wier made the handsome wedding cake, which was decorated by Mrs. W. Elliott. The young couple left by motor for a tour through Victoria. The bride travelled in a floral crepe frock, with navy wool-de-chene coat and navy hat to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Milne will reside at Bordertown.
