Accident Near Bridge:
Two youths were treated at the S.C.D. Hospital following an accident at the intersection of Hindmarsh Road and Bridge Terrace near the Hindniarsh River late Monday afternoon. Their sports car was involved in a collision with a large sedan which had just crossed the rail wayline. Three nominations were received last week for Inman Ward in the District Council of Victor Harabor where an extra ordinary vacancy occurr ed following the recent resignation of Councillor W.F.J. W. Morcom. Among the numerous gifts received was a gold key, and an imitation key, much larger than the genuine one, which was autographed by all those present. After the gaieties were concluded here, an adjournment was made to the Institute to join in the fun of the dance sponsored by the Racing Club. Man Pinned Under Truck: Breaks Thigh
Whyalla, May 3.
While travelling along the Cowell road from Whyalla yesterday, a cattle, truck swayed and overturned, pinning Vivian Owen Broadbent underneath it. The truck was being driven by William Jaycock. The capsize was apparently, due to the cattle moving about. Broadbent was treated by Dr. Wallace for a broken thigh. He was taken to the Whyalla casualty room and later to the Cowell Hospital.

Friends of the bride decorated the Nyngan Church of England with irises, lillies and gladioli for the marriage of Moira, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Howard-Smith of "Garrawilla," Nyngan, to Mr. Alan Halfpenny, of "Rocky Glen" Station, Cobar. Rev. Brother Philip Crawford performed the ceremony at 5 p.m. on September 25. Entering the church with her father, the bride wore a gown of white tulle mounted on satin. The lace Peter Pan collar off-set the round yoke trimmed with lace and seed pearls, and the full skirt fell into a train. The three-tiered cut tulle veil was held by a juliet cap of satin trimmed with lace and pearls, and the bride carried a bouquet of white tulips, orchids and gladioli. Bridesmaids, Misses Judith Howard-Smith, Betty and Joan Phillips were frocked alike in turquoise georgette over satin with georgette stoles. Cowl collars at the back of the bodices were finished with carnations. They wore matching juliet caps and carried bouquets of pink carnations and English blue bells. Attending the groom were Messrs. Tom Halfpenny, Warwick Howard-Smith and Colin Pupper. At the Town Hall, 170 guests were received by Mrs. Howard Smith, who wore a black frock touched with ice-blue, black accessories and a spray of pink orchids.

HALFPENNY -- HOWARD SMITH
St. Mark's Church, Nyngan, was the scene of a charming wedding on Tuesday, September 25th, when Moira, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Reg. Howard Smith, of "Garrawilla," Nyngan, became the bride of Alan, son of Mrs. A. M. Half-penny, and the late Mr. Halfpenny, of "Rocky Glen," Cobar. Rev. Brother Philip officiated at the ceremony which was attended by a large number of relatives and friends, including many from Sydney, Cobar and other centres. Before the ceremony, Mr. P. Beckenham gave an organ recital and accompanied Mrs. Bruce Douglas who beautifully rendered two hymns. As the bride entered the church on the arm of her father and accompanied by her maids -- Miss Judith Howard Smith her elder sister, and Misses Betty and Joan Phillips -- the congregation looked with admiration on the charming bride and her attendants in their exquisite array. The bride's gown was of white tulle, with a cream parchment satin foundation. The yoke, with a Peter Pan collar and waistband were of lace ornamented with seed pearls, the bouffant skirt unfolding to a cascade and train, caught by a large satin bow and orange blossom. Her tulle veil was held in place by a satin and lace juliette cap, decorated with seed pearls in keeping with the ensemble. Her shower bouquet was of gladioli, orchids and freesia. A complete contrast were the bridesmaids' frocks, of turquoise blue, the bodices being of satin, with French tulle skirts and stoles, the latter being held in place by pink carnations. Juliette caps, with bouquets of pink carnations and English bluebells completed the charming picture.
Mrs. Howard-Smith was most attractively attired in a black crepe frock, with ice blue bodice covered by black lace. She wore a black picture hat, black accessories and a spray of orchids. The bridegroom's mother was tastefully attired in a pearl grey suit, with nigger brown accessories and wearing a spray of orchids to match her hat. Best man was Mr. Tom Halfpenny, brother of the groom, assisted by Mr. Colin Tucker, of Cobar, and Mr. Warwick Howard Smith, brother of the bride. Mr. Fred Dowling and Mr. Fred Phillips, assisted by Master Wayne Howard Smith, ably carried out the duties of ushers. Following the ceremony, about 170 guests gathered in the Town Hall. After viewing the magnificent array of gifts, the assemblage adjourned to the Supper Room for the wedding banquet. -- Nyngan "Observer"

Falls From Bridge
Robert McGregor Duffield, 6 years, a son of Mr and Mrs Francis Duffield of Mill street, Clarence Gardens, fell about 12 feet from a bridge in Mitchell street, Goodwood late yesterday afternoon onto the concrete below A civil ambulance took him to the Childrens Hospital where he was admitted suffering from concussion and shock.
