Peach Blossom Weddings
On Saturday evening two pretty weddings were oonducted in the Quorn Methodist Churoh by the Rev. H. P Lambert. The church, which had been decorated with flowering peach blossom by Miss Ruby Waters, made a beautiful setting to a dainty picture and brought many expressions of delight from the large crowd that filled the cburch.
The first contracting parties to file up the aisle to the "Wedding March," played by Mrs H. Stokes on the organ, were Victoria (Sis), daughter of Mr and the late Mrs J. H. Saler, of Port Pirie, and Leslie. second son of Mrs and the late John Hillman, of Quorn.
The bride, who was acoompanied by Mr T. H. Bury, was frocked in white silk morocain. The veil of tulle was held in position by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a trailing bouquet of pink and white rosebuds.
The matron of honour was Mrs H. T. Hughes, of Willowie (sister of the bridegroom), who wore biege lace and net and a hat of pink flowers and carried a bouquet to match.
The best man was Mr J. Saler (brother of the bride), of Port Pirie. Mrs Geo. Klingberg, sister of the bride, wore black morocain and carried a posy of sweet peas.

The second bridal party was Marjory (Midge), third daughter of Mrs and tbe iate Mr John Hillman, of Quorn, and Clarenoe Charles, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. F. Curnow, of Jamestown.
The bride, who entered the church with Mr Joe Brewster, jun., was charmingly frocked in white all over lace net. Her veil of tulle, which was worn cap fashion, was held in position by a spray of orange blossom, and a silver girdle, with shoes to matoh completed the ensemble. She carried a shower bouquet of pink carnations and sweet peas.
The bridesmaid, Miss Phyllis Oxlade, of Port Augusta, cousin of the bride, wore blue georgette with silver girdle and shoes to match. A tulle cap was held in place by a spray of pink flowers, and she carried a bouquet of flowers to match Mr A. Hillman, brother of the bride, was best man. Mrs Hillman, mother of two of the contracting parties, was gowned in black wool de chene, and wore a black hat and shoes to match, and carried a bouquet of violets and sweet peas.
Mrs Curnow, mother of the bridegroom, chose grey morocain with hat to match, and carried a posy of violets and sweat peas.
Mrs C. Smith, sister of the bride, was frocked in black wool de chene, trimmed with broadcloth, and carried a posy of pansies. A reception was subsequently held at the home of Mrs Hillman, the mother of the bride, where the usual toasts were honoured and a happy time spent by all.

Marjorie married Clarence Charles CURNOW [18020] [MRIN: 6649], son of Living and Living, on 15 Aug 1936 in Methodist Church, Quorn, South Australia. (Clarence Charles CURNOW [18020] was born circa 1915 and died on 16 Jan 2000 in South Australia.)
