1987 WA Death

The Daily News (Perth) Wednesday 5 May 1937
She thought it over for three weeks; then went free
Displaying a dislike for married life, a young- woman left her husband, and although she subsequently took three weeks to consider the matter, she finally decided that she preferred to live alone. Arthur Victor Green said in the Divorce Court today that he was a farmer at Corrigin when he married Marjorie Ann Green on February 3, 1930. In June of that year she returned to her people and did not come back to the farm until June, 1931. Then, after a stay of about six weeks, she again went away. In 1933 Green gave up the farm and obtained employment at his trade as a turner and fitter. Taking a situation at Port Hedland he asked his wife to go with him, but she refused. He saw her on many occasions when he returned to Perth, and eventually she asked for three weeks in which to make up her mind whether she would resume married life. When Green went for his answer his wife met him at the front door and informed him that she had decided that she would not return to him. Green, for whom Mr. R. V. Neville appeared, was granted a decree nisi, returnable in six months.

The West Australian Thursday 6 May 1937
