According to 1841 England Census Mary Ryder (nee Hill) was born about 1821 which would make her much younger than thought - indicates Mary 17-18y when married, however Census dates not always accurate.
Mary Ryder nee Hill's mother Susanna Hill, who was partially paralysed, lived with Joseph and Mary at King's Lynn from 1848 until they left for Australia in 1849.

Victoria School: Built in 1880, to replace the former Victoria school, the school building was built to service both the Morphett Vale and Hackham townships, hence its location between the two old townships. The building accommodates 60 children and was used as a school for 100 years before being converted to a library and its current use as a funeral parlour. The building is constructed of stone from Trott's Quarry with brick dressings and a corrugated iron roof. (Picture in photo gallery.)
