The Advertiser Friday 4 Jan 1918 HUGHES.-On the 29th December, 1917, at Yumali, through accident, Norman Ryder, youngest child of Joseph R. and J. E. Hughes, aged 8 years. Beloved by all.
Genealogy SA Memorial Inscriptions Died in fall from horse. Unveiled 13 Apr 1986. (Located at former site of Parkin Hall, 3 km from Coomandook Area School)
Norman was killed by a horse he was riding bare back, the horse had a heart attack and dropped dead. Norman was buried by Parkin Hall. The hall is gone and only a monument for the hall and Norman remains (as per Eva Creed nee Berry).
