A CHARGE IN INSOLVENCY
In the Insolvency Court to-day charges were laid on behalf of opposing creditors against Simeon Barnard, who was once well known in racing circles. The principal opposing creditor was Benjamin Solomon, who had been a trustee with Barnard in the estate of Elizabeth Lee since 1883. Barnard admitted that when he received a legacy of £500 he gave £150 as a marriage portion to his daughter. The principal charge laid against Barnard was that he gave a fraudulent preference to a creditor. The hearing was adjourned.
