THE GOSSE - NICHOLAS WEDDING.
MR. C. J. GOSSE.
The marriage of Charles John Gosse, eldest son of the late John Gosse, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., of Wallaroo, South Australia, and of Mrs. Gosse, 2 Nevern square, London, S.W., with Beryl, younger daughter of the late William Nicholas, of Nant, Bothwell, Tasmania, and of Mrs. Nicholas, 67 West Cromwell road, London, S.W., was celebrated at St. Stephen's Church, Gloucester road, London, on July 17, by Bishop Montgomery, late Bishop of Tasmania, assisted by the Rev. Lord Victor Seymour, vicar of the parish, The bride entered the church on the arm of her cousin, Mr. J. Pringle, and was given away by her mother. She looked very handsome in a trained gown of soft liberty satin, the skirt of which was draped with antique Limerick lace, which, with a shoulder cape of the same beautiful lace was a gift from her mother; the wedding veil draped over a wreath of real orange blossom, was of Sicilian lace, lent by her cousin (Mrs. Anzino). The only ornament worn was a diamond pendant, the gift of the bride groom, and she carried a shower bouquet of orchids, lily of the valley, and white heather, which she afterwards divided amongst her friends. The bride was fol lowed to the altar by six attendant maids Misses Eveline Nicholas (sister), Elsie Nicholas (cousin), Dollie Gosse (bridegroom's sister), Evelyn Knollys, and two little girls, Misses Evelyn Buck (cousin) and Betty Parsons. The elder bridal attendants were in frocks of white silk, with a chine pattern of pink and blue, trimmed with silver lace and tucked net; white hats with white tulle and the colours of the dresses introduced. They carried bouquets of pink sweet peas, and wore silver chains with pendants set with beryls, the gifts of the bridegroom. The children wore white satin frocks, white lace caps, and carried baskets of white sweet peas. The bride groom's brother (Mr. A. Hope Gosse) acted as best man, and Messrs. W. A. and R. W. Gosse acted as ushers. After the ceremony Mrs. Nicholas held a reception at her residence in West Cromwell road, which was beautifully decorated with flowers sent by friends of the bride. The hostess was gowned in silvergrey moire, with grey ninon and Limerick lace, black picture hat, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink carnations. Mrs. Gosse (bridegroom's mother) wore a gown of silk marquisette over white silk, with black embroidery re lieved with heliotrope, hat to match, and bouquet of mauve irises. Miss Gosse was in a gown of champagne satin, with hat in the same tone, and carried a bouquet of roses. The guests consisted of relatives of both families and a few intimate friends.
Among them were Bishop and Mrs. Montgomery, Mrs. Prendergast Walsh, Mr. Langton Walsh. Capt. Walsh, Misses Walsh, Sir_ James and Lady Fairfax, Miss Fairfax, Mr. and Mrs. Anzino, Misses Virtue, Lady Knollys, Mrs. C. Gosse, Miss M. Gosse. Mrs. Melville, Mrs. Phillip Gosse, Dr. F. Muecke, Mr. Percy Arnold, Miss T. Gosse, Mr. Colin Sprent, Dr. Vivian Orr, Misses Orr, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stan ton, and a number of others. The bride groom's gift to the bride was a diamond pendant; bride to Bridegroom, fitted suit ease: bride's mother, canteen of plate and old Spode china tea service; bridegroom's
mother, house linen.

Mr. C. J. Gosse
Mr. C. J. Gosse, whose death is reported from London, was a son of the late Dr. John Gosse and Mrs. Gosse, of Wallaroo. Mr. Gosse has lived in England for some years. His mother lives in Harley street, London, with another son, Dr. Hope Gosse.
