THREADGOLD. - On the 26th July, at his residence, Marion, Thomas, beloved husband of Mary Jane Threadgold, aged 81 years. A patient sufferer at rest.

Mr. T. Threadgold
Mr. Thomas Thredgold died at his home at Marion on Thursday, July 26. Born at Kettering, Northamptonshire, England, in 1852, he came to South Australia with his parents in the sailing ship Duchess of Northumberland at the age of three. They settled at Kangarilla.. He worked as a builder in that district for many years. Later he went to Marion and took over his father's brickwork business, which he conducted for over 50 years before he retired some years ago. He married Miss Mary Jane Smart, daughter of the late Mr. Walter Smart, of Kangarilla. He was a member of Zion Tent, Independent Order of Rechabite Lodge, Kangarilla, for nearly 60 years. He left a widow, four daughters, and one son- Mrs. J. Ryan (Marion), Mrs. J. Walton (Welland), Mrs. J. Kappler (Ascot Park), Mrs W. Ormond (Marion) , and Mr. W. Thredgold (Seacliff).

Thomas married Mary Jane SMART [719] [MRIN: 241], daughter of Edmund Walter SMART [683] and Maria COLBERT [700], on 30 Jan 1879 in Wesleyan Church, Kangarilla, South Australia. (Mary Jane SMART [719] was born on 17 Jun 1858 in Clarendon, South Australia, died on 12 Nov 1944 in Adelaide, South Australia and was buried on 13 Nov 1944 in St Judes Cemetery, Brighton, Adelaide.)
