SERIOUS CHARGES
HOUSE BREAKING AND FORGERY ALLEGED.
BLACK TRACKER EMPLOYED.
Albert Henry Dyson, laborer, of Brooklyn Park, was charged at the Adelaide Police Court on Monday, before Mr. T. Gepp, S.M., and justices, with having forged and uttered a cheque for £25 in the name of Archibald Edwards, on the Savings Bank of South Australia, on June 30. He was also charged with having broken and entered into the dwelling house of Samuel Lewis, of Underdale, on August 20, and with having stolen a cash box, two Savings Bank pass-books, and £3, the property of Samuel Richard Lewis. Mr. B. S. Penny appeared for the accused.
The premises of Mr. Lewis were broken into on August 20, entrance having been obtained through a bedroom window which bad been forced open by a crow bar. The defendant was traced by a black-tracker to a house in Brooklyn Park, where he was arrested by Detectives Allchurch, and Mattin, and Constable Barrien
Sub-Inspector Edwards applied for a remand until Thursday. The application was granted, bail being refused.
