The inscription on Headstone at West Terrace Cemetery: Plan3, Row 26, Site# 72, Reg# 32351
reads as follows:

In Loving Memory
of
Our Dear Mother

SARAH BAILS
Who died 10th Sept 1895
Aged 77 Years

A weary path i've travell'd, mid darkness storm and strife,
Bearing many burden, struggling for my life
But now the morn is breaking, my toil will soon be o'er,
I'm kneeling at the threshold, my hand is on the door

Victoria Square.

bullet  Research Notes:

On Sarah Davis' burial plot it records that a person named Benson (and Bailes) took out the plot - so Sarah Ann may have been going by that name as well. (L. Bails, Researcher)

A search for marriages and deaths of the 2 children born to Sarah has been fruitless, it is strange how they have disappeared, they must have been around when headstone was erected as it stated (Our Dear Mother) Thomas Henry would have been 45 years and Sarah Ann 34 years.
Further investigation on Lease holders of this grave site has been started by Lance Bails on 8th March 2011 to Adelaide Cemetery Authority.

A letter from ACA 9/3/2011 states the name on Sarah Bails grave lease W4581 is Sarah Benson of Sheldon St Norwood.
