Elizabeth Ann Smart passed away on 21-10-1917 at her home, Narridy, aged 83 years. Born 22-6-1834 in Cornwall England, the fourth child and eldest daughter of Thomas Roberts and Hannah nee Webb. The family arrived in South Australia aboard "Sir Charles Forbes" in June 1839. Elizabeth was the mother of eleven children, a son dying aged 4 years at Golden Grove. He is buried near his Grandparents John and Agnes Smart, Golden Grove Cemetery. A stone memorial has been placed during 1989 for this young child. Elizabeth's home and life would have been busy with ten adult siblings --many of her children were married at home and several grandchildren born there. Elizabeth cared for her Mother Hannah Roberts for many years, she is remembered as a "kind, placid Grandma".
Elizabeth Smart with husband Robert has a brown stone memorial.

Elizabeth married Robert SMART [3091] [MRIN: 1014], son of John SMART [6760] and Agnes [6761], on 16 Apr 1854 in Trinity Church, Adelaide, South Australia. (Robert SMART [3091] was born on 3 Feb 1828 in Glasgow, Scotland, died on 16 Aug 1915 in Narridy, South Australia and was buried in Narridy, South Australia.)
