Elizabeth Gunter:
In 1841 there was an Elizabeth Gunter, aged 60, also in Church Street, a laundress; it does not give her marital status.
In 1851, aged 72, a widow receiving parochial relief.
In 1861, aged 82, a widow living with her daughter Sarah.
She was not recorded in the 1871 census, so presume she had died before then. I have checked all St. Catherines death indexes but did not find a record. Her daughter, Sarah, died on 22 July, 1863 and Mary Ann Gunter (nee Thorn) was the informant. Her daughter Sarah did not marry and was a dressmaker.
Elizabeth Gunter was born at Stanwell in Middlesex which is not that far from Staines. Old Henry does not appear in the census records for Staines, so I would presume he must have died before 1841.
By 1881 son Henry & wife Mary Ann Gunter had moved to Mill Mead in Staines.

• Census: England, 7 Apr 1861, 57 Church Street, Staines, Middlesex, England. Elizabeth is recorded as Head Widow age 82 born Stanwell, dau Jane Gunter dressmaker age 46 and grand-dau Jane Robinson dressmaker age 16 at same address.

Elizabeth married Henry GUNTER [747] on 31 Jan 1801 in St Mary, Staines, MSX. Henry was born about 1777 in Staines, Middlesex, England, died in 1822 in Staines, Middlesex, England aged about 45, and was buried on 30 Oct 1822 in St Mary Staines Mdx.

Foster & Beal Family Tree on Ancestry.com records Mary Ann's birth abt 1806 Buck, and her death as Dec 1890 Aylesbury. The Beal Family Tree record a final child, Betsy Elizabeth Thorn b 1874 - Perhaps William married again! (I think Betsy is a grandchild, dau of Samuel Thorn)

Langley (also known as Langley Marish) is a village in the authority of Slough, Berkshire in South East England. The name "Marish" has no association with a marsh but is manorial in origin, the manor having been held by the family of Mareys or, in Latinised form, Marisco. Christine de Marisco held the manor of Langley on behalf of the Crown between 1282 and 1311 during the reign of Edward I. The village formed part of a much larger area known as Langley Marish. The area stretched from as far as Gerrards Cross down to Colnbrook.
Until boundary reorganisation in 1974, Langley was in the county of Buckinghamshire. The village gets the the unfortunate distinction of being called "The Straggling Village".
The meaning of the word Langley comes from two old English words Lang meaning Long and Leah meaning wood or clearing. The area was made up of a number of these so called clearings. The original clearings; Middle Green, Horsemoor Green, George Green, Sawyers Green and Shredding Green developed into small enclaves of housing and were eventually merged into one larger village centred around the church in St Mary's Road. These clearings no longer exist, however have been adopted in street names or much smaller green fields.
