Barrier Miner (Broken Hill, NSW : 1888 - 1954) Mon 8 Oct 1917 Page 2 UNLAWFULLY ON LICENSED PREMISES. Ethelred Leopold Matthews (53) was charged before Mr. H. Giles Shaw, S.M., in the Police Court this morn- ing, with having been found on the licensed premises of the Tydvil Hotel, Oxide-street, on October 6, when such premises should not have been open for the sale of liquor. He was also charged with being a person against whom a liquor prohibition order had been is- sued, having been found in the bar of an hotel without lawful purpose. Defendant, who had been previously convicted, was ordered to pay a fine of £1, or go to gaol for seven days, on each charge, the sentences to imprisonment being cumulative.
